From previous thread:
I'm hoping for a showing equal to the Stadium Series from the team except the goalie. I want at least to walk out not hearing them say same problem for the Flyers as the previous seasons ...NO GOALIE. That was the most popular phrase I heard leaving Heinz Field.
Flyers will play hard, surprise to not see Weise playing, I thought he did well vs. The Pens in the stadium series, but then again, I guess it is all just just deck chairs...
Good to see we are projected to keep Weise and Cousins on the bench to minimize the likelihood that our 4th line will score. Imagine the improvements if they came in for CVV and Lyubimov...
Remember when we thought giroux would be better than crosby - JoeRussomanno
Who said that? He was better than Crosby for a 2-week period in a joke display of hockey, but I don't think anyone ever said he would be better over the long term.

quiet, you!
It should be obvious to everyone that Giroux has been nothing but a disappointment. A bust, if you will.

You do realize that both Lyubimov and CVV are scoring at higher rates than Weise this season despite playing on the 4th line where Weise has played on both the 3rd and 4th lines, right?

Weise would add that offense that we're looking for.

I do think it was funny the way the comment was constructed...but the law of averages suggest it might help

A joke display of hockey?
Just my .02 but that was some of the most entertaining hockey i have seen in a long, long time.
The garbage that we see in the majority of the games today do not resemble the game i grew up watching and loved to watch.
I miss goalies where a great save % was anything over .900
Good job by the beat (Carchidi?) who asked Hak about changing the PK personnel as the first question after the last game. It's too late to matter for this season, but if there aren't big coaching and personnel changes on the PK for next season that should be the media's main topic raised with both the coach and GM over the summer. Being ranked 27th since the start of 14-15 can't possibly be something Hextall is OK with.

I miss 50, 60 or even 70 goal scorers.
I miss the 120+ point producers. - ggunky
Entertaining? Yes, absolutely.
An abysmal display of defense, goaltending, and a general desire to prove how tough you were as opposed to proving how good you were, coupled with cheap shots, hair pulling, and sloppy systems for 4 out of the 6 games played was what I was referring to.
If you are going to score 60 goals and 120 points, the fine. I don't have an issue with that. But in that series, there was minimal focus to playing any kind of sound defense. The goaltending wasn't about quality of shots, it was about putrid goaltending, probably the worst I've ever seen in a best-of-7 series. Players were more intent of throwing cheap shots that actually winning the games.
Give me clean, hard-hitting, physical hockey any day of the week, but actually try to include playing some hockey, give me at least average quality goaltending, and players actually trying to win instead of caring who they can make leave on a stretcher.

My preference is to watch high flying, entertaining offense.
